First day of school outfits. We had to take pictures inside, because it was pouring down rain.
First soccer game of the season. Anna's turn in the goal. She didn't see much action....
They glow in the dark. Their team name is the Tigers. Their cheer is "Tigers! Tigers! Tigers - ROAR!" Which might be their favorite part of the whole experience, besides the snacks and the adorable matching hair bows one of the moms made.
Coach Rozelle picked the colors, the team name, and made up the cheer. An ode to his Bengals, I suppose. A little before game drills going on here.
Apple picking today, actually the second weekend in a row. Last weekend, we went to our favorite little local farm, Abbots. We had to pick this weekend because THE HONEYCRISPS WERE READY! They pick out in 1 day. We tried a new place this time, called Beak & Skiff. They're kind of famous. And touristy. But they had 2 things going for them in the girls' opinion: tractor rides out to the orchard, and step ladders.
Sometimes it's still more fun to go in under the branches and get apples. Especially in the beautiful little McIntosh trees, which seem like perfect places for children to hide. Now we have an abundance of apples: Mc Intosh, Cortland (an NY variety), Gala, and of course, Honeycrisp:) For dessert tonight .... pie!
Actually, that would be 2 desserts in one day. For a snack, Anna picked a caramel apple, and Molly picked an apple dumpling. And we had cider too.
So yes, September is flying by at top speed, but we've managed to squeak in some fun and family time too:)
