An Anna Kind of Weekend

Last weekend was Moll's, as she performed in her last SSYSO concert of the year, with Grandpa and Grandma Rozelle in attendance.  Next weekend, she will make her confirmation with Grandpa and Grandma Weldt in attendance.  She has a track meet once a week.

This weekend belonged to Anna.

For starters, there is a room in our house that is now VERY pink. We are finally granting Molly's request for her own room, but because of logistics, Anna's room will be done first.  In grand Anna style.  Oui, oui.

But the headliner took place today.  On and off this year, Anna has mulled over whether or not she wants to get baptized.  We had a few discussions, and told her that if she felt she was ready, she could talk to Pastor BJ.  A few weeks ago, she discovered that her buddy Ellie was getting baptized, AND that this would be the last baptism Pastor BJ performed before he leaves us.  Anna decided that it would be a good time to get baptized.  First, that she and Ellie could share the special day (we asked Ellie to make sure it was ok with her.  Thankfully, she was thrilled).  Secondly, she wanted Pastor BJ to baptize her. "Not that new pastor I don't even know yet." (Her words).

I think the whole congregation was touched as Pastor explained the girls stories.  The girls were excited, but very serious. And so cute.

Moll was our photographer and ended up videotaping the baptism and not snapping pictures.  Which is fine, but I won't post an 11 minute video here.
This is Pastor BJ with the girls after the service.  They stood with him in the back as the congregation filed out.  They were very poised.  I think they charmed nearly everyone.

Ellie's family had a little celebration afterward.  It was so sweet of them to include us.  My friend Ami even put Anna's name on the cake with Ellie's!
At age 6 and 7, already making a difference in the world, these two amazing girls!

What a great day! And even better for Anna - no school tomorrow! And maybe Anna will sleep in her new room?!
