Keuka Lake Kool-Aid

My nephews, when asked what they wanted to do in New York, named "riding in a fast boat!" right after "the Baseball Hall of Fame!"  My girls were all over that one.  They will NEVER turn down a ride in a fast boat.  Or behind a fast boat hanging onto a tube.

And Uncle Jeff and Aunt Tiff needed no excuses.  190 horsepower engine ski boat and tubing equipment:  reserved. A day of boat fun on their favorite lake (Keuka, in case you needed reminding) was planned for Sunday.

We cheated the rain forecast for the day (for the most part).  We had a blast.  And we convinced Kelly and Jeremy that Keuka Lake is the best lake in the whole wide world too.  They were totally downing the Keuka Lake Kool-Aid.  Jeremy spent a lot of time plotting ways for us to get a place on Keuka.  And a boat.  Or ways that Kelly could find a job in New York and he could sit on a boat all day.
The kids enjoying the ride.  My nephew looks to be an 18 year old surfer here.  He's not.
Jeremy - maybe he's just swimming here.  We did just stop the boat and jump off and swim sometimes.  The water cannot be resisted.  He and Jeff did their best to kill one another too.  Not only did they try to throw one another off the tube while they were driving in the most violent way possible, once Jeff had poor Jeremy swimming and swimming to try to catch up to the boat.  This might have been that time.
As admirable as Jeff and Jeremy's tubing skills were, none could surpass Miss Anna.  She would have tubed all 8 hours.  She could hang on like a champ.  And her little fist was constantly making the "go faster!" sign or "crazier turns!" sign.  She could not get enough.  She is easily, hands down, wilder than the boys. And if SHE had been driving while the men were tubing ... they really would be dead.
Anna and Brayden sharing a tube ride.  My sister took lots of great pics and videos (those of you who are her facebook friends: look for those to be coming...).  Me? Are you kidding?  All of these pictures were taken in the first hour.  I was having too much fun to be taking pictures:)
At the end of the day we attempted to picnic for dinner.  Jeff had just heated the coals and a big rainshower moved through.  Molly snapped this shot of the rainbow that peeked out afterward.  Jeff still managed to cook us some hot dogs, and we finished the day by stopping for ice cream.

So Collin really does look so grown up and "cool" in that picture! And yes, if Anna had driven the boat, you and Kel would be widows. :)
