First Report Card

Anna brought home her first report card.  Being 6 years younger than her older sibling, she is wise in the way of report cards.  She knows that "real" report cards have letter grades, so hers with the numbers was not something she considered official.  We had to do a lot of fast talking to get her to accept it as a real report card, and only then I think it was because she decided to concede.  She is also aware that when Molly makes high honor roll, she gets taken out to the restaurant of her choice.

She ran into the living room, patted the couch next to her and said, "Mommy, come sit down and we'll read this report card together."  She read "1" for each task (the highest mark) and I told her that was like getting all A's.  Then she read the comments.  They were all very complementary, except one that said "Anna is learning to take less of a leadership role when playing with others." Anna looked up at me, cocked an eyebrow and said, "Um, that's not a very good remark, is it?" I stifled a giggle and told her not to worry about it.  Daddy would be proud.

Until Dad came home, she brandished the envelope saying, "This is only for Mom and Dad and me to read.  And Biscuit. " In other words, everyone but Molly.  Eventually, Molly's aloofness couldn't be tolerated and she approached Moll and asked her if she'd like to look at it. When Dad came home, he gave it high praise and proclaimed it out-to-dinner-of-Anna's-choice-worthy.

So dinner out is tomorrow night.  Last Friday Moll picked our local diner.  Anna, stab in my heart, with all the fabulous local Italian places around here, picked Olive Garden.

LOL. Olive Garden. She and Simone are a pair. Let me tell you. We live in Little Italy. Literally, and the kid wants Red Robin or Olive Garden. Go figure! Congrats Anna, and Molly!
