News of Happy Things

Remember my friend, John? Things are working together for good in his life. The short version:

Our friend Don is a landlord (a good one).  He needed an extra pair of hands to help.  John needed money and skills.  Don hired John.  Picks him up, teaches him skills like painting and nailing up trim, buys him lunch, takes him home.  Don gets a good young worker, John gets paid and gets job experience.  They both get a new friend. John told me that Don is like a second chance at a father for him.

Don and Cathy invite him over on Christmas day, so he's not alone.

John is moving along, making progress at school.

Today we brought John to church.  We had lunch at Don and Cathy's afterward.  We all went sledding and had a blast.

My heart is full of joy for the privilege of being friends with such wonderful people.  All of them.

The newspapers are full of bad news.  I thought you would like to hear something happy.
