Spring Break Escape

The kids and I headed to Washington, DC to visit with Uncle Mike and Aunt Kristy.  SU's Spring Break is in March, so Jeff did not have the time off.  This might be the last year I can take off with the kids, so I decided to travel with them.  Washington DC is really experiencing spring, unlike Syracuse.  The girls love DC and their aunt and uncle, and since Baby Traylor is due this August making Mike and Kristy's usual faithful and much anticipated visit unlikely, we took off to visit them.

Saturday was all downpours and high winds, so after a drive that left Anna puking and my arms sore, we stayed in.  Sunday was gorgeous, so after church we headed out to Eastern Market.
We did lots of looking, but not much buying.  It was very tempting for all.  Sun hats, pottery, homemade sauces, a yellow dresser that would look perfect in a nursery, Greek tiles that would look fabulous in my living room...

We did spring for some goodies. Enjoying our afternoon snack.
It was such a beautiful day that we just spent some time relaxing in nice parks
and admiring the lovely gardens and brownstones.
We ate at Ted's Bulletin, trying the much-touted homemade pop-tarts and shakes along with our meals.
