A picture, as promised. It took a few posts, but here ya go. But surely, because you know me, I either a) don't take very many pictures b) take pictures but they don't turn out well c) rely on my talented friends and family members to take pictures and send them to me.This, believe it or not, was an event my girls have been waiting for all summer. Our library has a day each summer when the kids read to a therapy dog. My kids start looking out for the sign up sheet as soon as summer starts. The spots fill up quickly so apparently more kids than just Molly and Anna think this is great. Then once the list comes out Anna asks almost daily if it's time to read to the dogs. This morning they displayed model behavior because they knew what was on the line if they didn't. (And post dog-reading we had a major fit in JoAnn Fabrics, but we won't talk about that.) So we got to the library promptly and gasp! received #8! What?! Last year we were #1! But they got over having to wait. So this is Jeb, who was a little smelly but very sweet and he laid on the floor so nicely while being read "Henry and Mudge and the Sneaky Crackers". (Except for when I took the camera out and he thought I maybe had some sneaky crackers). This is him giving kisses to them, which he liked to do, which the girls were so-so about because of his stinky breath. But they loved him and will do it again next year. Jeb's handler was praising Moll for being a good reader and admiring her stack of books and said she was"just like a little Dick Cheney" whatever that means. Hardly seems like a compliment for a 9 year old girl, but he seemed nice and sincere. Still...
My girls would probably love a dog, huh? Guess what? Our place JUST started allowing them. But here's the oucher: $200 non-refundable deposit, $25 extra per month. And that's BEFORE we purchase the DOG, it's food, toys, shots, bed, etc. Whatcha think? Any bets about what Jeff thinks?

dick cheney!?!? i'm dying!!!
with your subject line and the pic i thought for sure you had gone to the pound already! :)
Yup, Dick Cheney. Jeff and I were in tears over that one last night. Poor Moll had no clue when she came downstairs this morning and we mouthed "Little Dick Cheney." and started laughing all over again.
Yeah, if we do this dog thing it will not be the little pug they dream of - it will DEFINITELY come from the shelter!
Mike and I agree with Courtney; when we read the "Little Dick Cheney" comment, we burst into laughter. That wouldn't have been the first comparison I would have made...
Mike also thought the "smelly" comments about the dog were funny. And we paid dearly (and will continue to do so) to bring Howie here and keep him here. But Mike says it's worth it!
