Is the Sky Half Sunny or Half Cloudy?

This morning as we were riding to school, the sun looked like it wanted to peek out from the clouds covering it up.  

The four year old exclaims, "What a beautiful sunny day, Mom!"

The ten and a half year old retorts, "Whatever!  You call this beautiful and sunny?  It's cloudy."

This difference in perspective is insightful when navigating the turbulent waters of our household on school mornings.
