It stormed around Syracuse all day Saturday, so we decided to go check out Thousand Islands, an area we heard was great, but had no idea what to expect.
You drive all the way up 81 until there's no more NY and you hit the St. Lawrence river. Which is bigger than any river I've ever seen. Bigger than the Potomac. Bigger than the Mississippi. And cleaner. Incredibly clear water dotted with beautiful and captivating islands. We took a boat tour to get a good look.

During the tour, they invited all the children up to take a turn learning to drive the big boat. This is Moll.

We didn't tell them about this one's propensity for speed and wildness. But she didn't throw the big cruiser into full throttle and I'm pretty sure that captain next to her prevented any sudden wheel turning.

Anyway, they must've done ok because they both earned their captain's license. They both agreed that driving this boat was not nearly as fun.

Our little Biscuit came with us and spent most of the two and a half hours snoozing. Which he wouldn't have done if Anna had really been driving that boat the way she would've liked to.
